The Sustainable Community

According to the Institute for Sustainable Communities:

[A] sustainable community is one that is economically, environmentally, and socially healthy and resilient. it meets challenges through integrated solutions rather than through fragmented approaches that meet on of those goals at the expense of the others. And it takes a long-term perspective - one that's focused on both the present and the future, well beyond the next budget or election cycle.

Successful sustainable communities are built upon a foundation of active and informed citizens, inspiring and responsive leaders, and responsible institutions, services, and businesses. Within this section, you will find tools and information you can use to facilitate the transformation of the City of Wichita into a sustainable community that will continue to thrive for centuries to come!
